LAS VEGAS, NV (Nov. ____, 2016) – The Triangle Tire USA booth at the annual SEMA/Global Tire Expo in Las Vegas last week got plenty of attention from American tire distributors and dealers interested in the company’s plans for the U.S market
Approximately 140,000 automotive aftermarket and tire industry professionals from the U.S. and abroad attended SEMA/Global Tire Expo 2016 and the accompanying AAPEX show on Nov. 1-4.
A large number of Triangle consumer and commercial tires were on display in an eye-catching booth which creatively used Triangle shapes and photographic examples of Triangle’s key customer segments – consumers, trucking fleet managers, and off-highway tire users such as construction professionals.
Triangle Group Chairman Ding Yuhua and other Triangle corporate executives from China were in attendance to meet personally with U.S. distributors and dealers. They discussed the company’s proud 40-year history and its plans for global expansion, which was bolstered by the September approval of the Triangle Tire initial public offering (IPO) bid.
Triangle Tire USA CEO Manny Cicero and his team were on hand to answer questions about the company’s U.S. distribution strategy and product offerings, which include:
medium radial truck tires for the trucking industry.
off-the-road (OTR) radial and bias products, including giant radials for the construction, mining and aggregates industries.
passenger and light truck tires, including ultra-high performance (UHP), winter and specialty trailer tires.
“Triangle Tire is a significant company in China but is relatively new to the U.S. so one of our primary goals was to tell the Triangle story to the distributors and dealers in attendance,” Cicero said. “We discussed how Triangle is the 14th largest tire company worldwide and the fourth largest OTR tire producer globally. We provided details on Triangle Tire’s commitment to R&D and the advanced manufacturing capabilities at the new plant in Weihai.”
Speaking at a dinner in Las Vegas for key customers and potential customers, Ding said, “This is a very exciting time at Triangle as we lay the foundation to become a truly global company. The approval of our IPO will help us upgrade our production capacity and technical capabilities. In particular, we’ll be upgrading our capabilities in all-steel radial commercial tires and high performance passenger car tires.”
Ding added, “The IPO funds will also help us begin building brand recognition with consumers and commercial customers in the U.S. We are determined to become a major player in this important market. We are interested in aligning ourselves with key distributors and dealers who want to grow profitably with us.”
Triangle Tire USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Triangle Tyre Co. Ltd., established an office in the U.S. (located in Franklin, Tennessee) last January. The company opened a technical center in Akron, Ohio, in 2011 to help develop consumer and commercial tires specifically for the U.S. market.
